Online Test Proctoring

Testing in the Library

Please note: 

  • The Library does not provide staffing for in-person traditional proctoring for exams. 
  • All information provided here is specific to online exams that incorporate an online proctoring service. 
  • Library staff support is limited to basic troubleshooting and assistance with space reservations. 
  • For proctoring software assistance, contact the Center for Learning and Teaching or visit their Proctorio resource page. 

Desktop Stations

  • The Library offers 3 dedicated testing computers. 
  • These computers are located on the first floor of the Library and are available on a first come first served basis. 
  • Students wishing to use one of these computers must check-in at the Circulation desk.

Loaner Laptop

  • The Library also has one laptop for in-house use that is available to be used for online proctored exams. 
  • This laptop can be checked out at the Circulation desk.

Students who would like to use their own laptop for proctored exams but need a quiet and private space to do so may reserve a Study Cubby. 

  • There are 8 cubbies available to reserve.
  • All Study Cubbies are located in the Quiet Study area on the 2nd floor of the library,
  • Students may reserve a Study Cubby online, in person at the circulation desk, at the Study Cubby kiosks on the 2nd floor, or by calling the library.
  • Once at the library, you can proceed to the 2nd floor and find the Study Cubby you have reserved.

The Library has 200 laptops that are available for OCCC students to check out which supports OCCC's proctoring software.  

  • These laptops checkout for 8 weeks (or to the end of the current term).
  • Each has a 8 week possible renewal.
  • Laptops become available on the first day of classes for each term. 
  • Laptops check out on a first come first served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
