Study Rooms
Overview
- The OCCC Library provides seven group study rooms accommodating two to six people.
- The study rooms are located on the 2nd floor. You must have at least two people to occupy a study room.
- All seven study rooms may be reserved.
- All study rooms have whiteboards available, and several include Huddle Stations.
- Dry erase markers and an eraser will be checked out to each group.
Policies
- All study rooms must be checked out at the Circulation Desk.
- At least two members of the group must be present for the room to be checked out and unlocked.
- You may make reservations online, by phone, or in person at the Circulation Desk.
- Reservations may be made for up to 14 days in advance.
- If a group/individual is 10 minutes late for their reservation, the reservation will be canceled.
- If the room is not currently in use and there is no existing reservation, and a group would like to use it, they can do so for up to two hours or until the time of a scheduled reservation, whichever comes first.
Zoom Rooms
Overview
- The Zoom Room is on the 2nd floor in room 208.
- The Zoom Room can be used for a variety of technology needs:
- Interactive and collaborative learning by groups of two or more OCCC students, staff, and faculty.
- Individuals, either affiliated with OCCC or from the community, attending web conference meetings or interviews.
- Individuals, either affiliated with OCCC or from the community, needing to record themselves giving a presentation or speech.
Policies
- Individuals using this room alone must be using the room for one of the reasons above or may be asked to leave the room.
- This space is near offices and the walls are thin. Please keep conversation and the volume of the television and other devices to a reasonable level.
- Once finished with the room, please check that all items are in the Zoom Room Kit and return the Kit to the Circulation Desk.
- If you use the whiteboards, please erase them.
Equipment
- The room is equipped with a large TV monitor with wireless capabilities.
- Instructions are provided in the room for how to connect to the TV.
- You can connect using any type of device that can connect to wireless internet.
- The room includes two whiteboards.
Meditation Room
Overview
- A Meditation Room is available on the second floor of the library in room LIB 207.
- The purpose of the Meditation Room is for patrons needing a quiet and private place to mediate, contemplate, or pray while on campus.
- The room includes low lighting, rugs, and directional signage.
- Patrons do not need to ask to use the Meditation Room.
- To ensure that you are not disrupted while using the Meditation Room, there is a sign on the door to let others know the room is in use.
- This room may not be used for studying or napping.
Study Cubbies
Overview
- The library offers 11 individual study cubicles called Study Cubbies equipped with a sliding door for privacy.
- They are located on the 2nd floor in the quiet area.
- Each Study Cubby includes power options and a desk lamp.
- Students may reserve Study Cubbies online, in person at the Circulation Desk, at the reservation kiosk located beside each Study Cubby, or by calling 405-682-7564.
