Technology Quick Start

Turning on the DSLR Camera and Taking Photos

  • On the top of the camera, slide the switch from off to on.
  • To change photo settings, twist the settings on the top. The green A in a square is the automatic setting. It is recommended to start with the automatic setting before trying other settings.
  • To take a picture, press the large black circle button on the top of the camera towards the front of the camera on the right side.
  • Press slightly to auto focus, then fully press to take the photo.
  • To view the photos, press the blue square with the triangle button to the right of the display screen, to scroll through photos.
  • To charge the camera, turn the camera over. On the bottom there is a flap labeled, Card/Batt. Open, slide the notch down to open.
  • Once open, there is a light gray notch on top of the battery. Slide off the notch and the battery will pop up and will be able to remove.
  • After removing the battery, place it inside the provided wall charger and plug into outlet.

Transferring Photos

  • Make sure the power is turned off on the camera. Take the provided USB cable and plug it into the side of the camera.
  • Connect the larger USB side into a computer, and now power on the camera.
  • Select the file explorer, and to the left side the Canon EOS Rebel T7 should now be listed.
  • Select Canon EOS Rebel T7> SD > DCIM Folder and the image files will be displayed.

Formatting SD Memory Card

  • Power on the camera. Select the Menu button to the right of the display screen.
  • Under the yellow wrench tab on the screen, select Format card by pressing the Set button.
  • Select OK and the card will show load bar and have deleted all files.
